The Rosamund Davies Research Travel Fellowship provides a grant to help support a research trip to the USA for work on projects related to American politics. When calls open, applications are invited from persons normally resident in the UK, and from scholars currently working at, or registered as postgraduates at, UK universities and institutions of higher education. Preference is generally given to young scholars, primarily postgraduate students.
It is hoped for the foreseeable future that the APG may be able to offer one or more PG/EC Research Travel Fellowships annually. The announcement of available awards will normally be made in autumn, with a closing date at the end of the following January. Candidates will be contacted with the results as soon as possible after the closing date. Information will appear on this website and in the APG Newsletter. (subscribe here)
In 2022 the Rosamund Davies Research Travel Fellowship was won by Thomas Furse of City, University of London. You can read a report from Thomas here.
The Rosamund Davies Research Travel Fellowship is funded by a generous donation from APG Chair Philip John Davies. The fellowship is run in memory of his late wife Rosamund (Ros) Davies. On occasion we also run fellowships in memory of others.
