As you know, the APG was recently was announced as PSA Group of the Year 2023-24! One of the factors that contributed to this success was the APG Newsletter which is celebrating its second birthday (no, we can’t quite believe it either!)

Since our first newsletter almost exactly two years ago, it has been key to publicising and supporting APG events and prizes, putting together panels at APSA, APG, and PSA conferences, sharing information about scholarships, sharing results of our member survey, sharing information about conferences including the APG ECR conference, sharing calls sent by others working in the areas of American Politics and American Studies more broadly, as well as sharing information and news of interest to our members. It is also (and we hope other agree) lovely to have a space to celebrate the success of APG members!

We haven’t counted, but a rough estimate is that we are just shy of 50 mailshots since May 2022, and it’s fair to say that we did not know exactly how it would pan out when we first started putting it together (would we really have enough ‘news’ for a couple of mailshots a month?) But, thanks to the active nature of the APG, filling the newsletter has never been a problem!

This success would not have been possible without your support – thank you so much! – and we hope it long continues!
