The Kass Lecture in the History of Medicine – Professor Beth Linker
Tuesday October 22, 5.30pm to 7pm
Council Room, King’s Building, King’s College London
In person or online
APG members may be interested in this FREE talk from Professor Beth Linker, Samuel H Preston Endowed Term Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, to be held at King’s College London and online.
Professor Linker will explore how a chance relationship between John F Kennedy and an orthopaedist would go on to inform Cold War notions of physical fitness, and how disabling back pain – and its prevention – rose to national prominence and stoked geopolitical concerns regarding the communist threat.
